Do you dream of living and working in Latin America? Are you passionate about developing the economic cooperation between Danish and Latin American companies? Are you interested in getting to know the business process in a progressive market? Then YOU may be the one we are looking for!

The Embassy of Denmark in Mexico City is looking for two interns for the Commercial Section starting on January 2nd and February 1st 2018, respectively. The position lasts six months. Application deadline is 8th of December 2017.

The internship is a good opportunity to supplement academic studies with practical skills and thorough knowledge of Mexican social and business affairs, as well as knowledge of the Embassy’s accredited countries in the Caribbean.

The Embassy works primarily as a trade embassy. The intern thus takes part in the daily commercial work, as well as participates in the Embassy's political and administrative work when required. Moreover ad hoc tasks of consular and cultural character can occur.

Tasks typically include:
• Elaboration of market and sector reports
• Communication between Danish and Mexican companies
• Responding to ongoing inquiries about the Mexican market
• General updates to the Embassy's political and economic information database
• Development and maintenance of the Embassy's website
• Participation at observer level in various meetings and seminars
• Contributing with ideas, information and articles to Danish and Mexican media
• Answering questions that are naturally directed to the embassy from Mexicans and Danes who seek information on virtually every conceivable area

The embassy has two interns in the commercial section, thus each intern's responsibilities will depend on the composition of the two’s professional profile. At the beginning of the internship, an agreement is signed to ensure that both the Embassy and the intern get the most out of the internship.

The internship includes highly variable and independent work and it is expected that the intern shows great flexibility and initiative in his or her work.

Furthermore, tasks include a great part of outgoing contact, therefore it is necessary that the intern masters Spanish and English both orally and in writing. Equally correct and articulate Danish is expected.

Furthermore the intern should be familiar with the programs in the Microsoft Office package, as well as general internet use.

The intern must at the time of accession, to the extent possible, be enrolled in a relevant graduate study.

Practical information
The internship is unpaid, but the Embassy contributes to expenses with DKK 3,000 a month.
