Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen's Official Visit to Mexico

Prime Minister of Denmark, Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, visited Mexico from April 2nd to April 4th, 2017. The main purpose of the visit was to meet with Mexican President, Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto to strengthen the bilateral relation between both countries.

Both leaders signed a Strategic Partnership which strengthens economic and political exchange in the bilateral, regional and multilateral level, intensifying the technical, scientific, educational and cultural cooperation, as well as boosting the cooperation to face global issues.

Furthermore, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Mexican Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) and the Danish Ministry of Environment and Food with the purpose of enabling safer, more sustainable, profitable and competitive agricultural and food systems, as well as improving the conditions of commercialization of food, equipment, technologies and agricultural products.

The Prime Minister participated in an event held by Lego Group in the ‘Papalote’ Museum of Children, where the cooperation between Danish and Mexican companies and Institutions was celebrated, specifically a Memorandum of Understanding signed between Lego Foundation and DIF (Mexican Agency for Integral Family Development). Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited Lego’s temporary exhibit in the museum and talked and played with the children invited to the event.

After the event, the Prime Minister assisted a reception held at the Ambassador of Denmark to Mexico, Mr. Henrik Bramsen Hahn’s residence, where he had the opportunity to talk with directives of Danish companies established in Mexico.

Lastly, the Prime Minister travelled to Michoacan State, to inaugurate the new APM Terminal’s terminal in the port of Lazaro Cardenas, along with Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, where Danish investment in Mexico was celebrated.
