How to apply for a Schengen Visa

APPLICANTS ARE REQUESTED TO READ  THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING THEIR APPLICATIONS AT THE VFS VISA APPLICATION CENTRE (VAC) IN MEXICO CITY.

NEW MANDATORY ONLINE VISA APPLICATION:

From 1 July 2019 you must fill in your visa application and pay the application fee online using ApplyVisa. After you have applied and paid the visa fee online, you must print the cover letter from ApplyVisa and submit it along with supporting documents at the VAC.

Please note that in the Dominican Republic and in Haiti we have representation agreements with the French Embassies. This means that the French Embassies in Santo Domingo and in Port-au-Prince receive and process applications for Schengen visa on behalf of Denmark. In Trinidad and Tobago we have a representation agreement with the Embassy of the Netherlands. In Jamaica we have an agreement with the Embassy of Belgium. Information about representation agreements can be found following this link

A Schengen Visa can be applied for no earlier than three months before the intended visit and no less than 15 calendar days prior to departure.

Applicants must fill in the application form online and pay the application fee online through ApplyVisa. Once the online application and payment have been completed you will need to print and sign the cover letter.

Submission in person

The cover letter, passport and required documentation (as listed below) must then be presented by the applicant IN PERSON at the VAC in Mexico or at a Danish mission or VAC abroad entitled to process visa applications to Denmark or at the Embassy of another country with which we have a representation agreement, see link to list of agreements above.

Fees

The standard application fee is EUR 60. (Online payment will be deducted in EUR, not in MXN). For citizens of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Georgia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russian Federation, Serbia and Ukraine a reduced fee of EUR 30 applies.

The Application fee is non-refundable irrespective of the outcome. The application fee will not be refunded if your application is unsuccessful.
